On Tuesday 10/05/10 Adobe released a critical patch that addresses 23 separate vulnerabilities in its free Adobe Reader and Adobe Acrobate software. Software versions effected are Reader and Acrobat versions 9.3.4 and earlier.
Exploits that allow electronic criminals to take advantage of these vulnerabilities have been available on the Internet for several weeks prior to this release.
It is advised that all users of these products regardless of operating system take time to update their systems immediately.
Update Procedure on Microsoft Windows machines:
Adobe Reader: Open Acrobat Reader and left-click on the “Help” menu item. Left-click on the menu choice “Check for Updates” or similar. Exact wording may change with version.
Adobe Acrobat: Same procedure as for Adobe Reader.
